Japan +0.5 (-120) 3 Units

Japan v USA Over 2.5 (+115) 3 Units

I'm surprised the US team is a favorite today. Why are the Japanese still underdogs??? They are World Cup Champions. They beat the US last year in the final. Japan beat France (a better team than Canada). The US had trouble against a weak country like Canada.

Well I guess we'll find out later. But I expect this to be close and Japan will be the fresher team on the field. Canada looked very tired at times today after the marathon on Tuesday. If it went to extra time they would have lost 2-0 or maybe 3-0. One goal by France and they would have lost their legs. Canada will be cheering on the Japanese tonight.

On a side note:

The match between Canada v USA was a disgrace to refereeing. The ref should have given a yellow to Wambach for counting in her ear. "The refs don't tell the players how to play the game and the players need to stay silent and not tell the refs how to call the game". FIFA made this message clear to all four teams before todays matches. Basically SHUT UP and play the game or you will be given a yellow card for "referee interference" as your first warning.

The Norweigan referee was pressured by the US player to make that 6 sec. call. That's a sign of weakness in FIFA's eyes and we won't see her ref'ing again internationally for a long time.

Conspiracy theorists believe this match was fixed to create a rematch of the 2011WC Final. I think thats entirely possible considering the US track record for fixing the Olympics (Salt Lake City is a very good example). But, I personally agree with FIFA that its was weak refereeing and the US benefitted from that fact.

Having lost the World Cup to Japan last year, the U.S. could find redemption in the Olympic final.

GO TEAM USA!

All-in!

WOW. Congrats USA backers.

But another lame reffing job. No hand ball call against the USA. The US gets away again without a penalty shot call. Twice in two games but the moment the ball hits one of their opponents hands (Canada) in the box; the ref calls a penalty shot without hesitation.

There is something fishy about the US matches.

Suggest you read "The Fix" By Declan Hill. I met him (great guy) and I know a FIFA Media Officer who read it and he said that he personally can vouch for some comments made in the book by 3rd parties. He said they wouldn't lie about match fixing. It's subtle but it happens every week of the year.

We may have seen it this week, TWICE.
